The SolarAxe Mini is a compact DC power system designed for miners like the Bitaxe Gamma 601 and 602. It takes power from a compatible solar panel or 12V DC source and regulates it down to the stable 5.0–5.4V your miner needs.
No inverter. No oversized solar generator. No unnecessary DC → AC → DC conversion.
Just:
Solar Panel → Mini → Miner → Hashing
Direct Solar Mining
Connect the Mini to a compatible 50W–150W solar panel and power your miner directly from the sun.
Recommended solar input:
- 50W–150W solar panel
- 12–26V DC input
- 10A fused input protection
- Regulated 5.0–5.4V DC output
The Mini also includes low-voltage protection designed to disconnect the miner when available solar power drops too low, helping prevent unstable reboot cycling during clouds, mornings, evenings, and changing solar conditions.
Already Have a Solar Generator?
The Mini can also be used with many solar generators that provide a compatible 12V / 10A DC output.
Instead of using:
Battery → Inverter → AC Power Supply → Miner
you can use:
12V DC → Mini → Miner
This bypasses the inverter and the miner’s AC power supply entirely.
In SolarAxe testing, this direct-DC setup reduced total system power usage by approximately 8–12 watts compared with powering the same miner from a solar generator’s AC outlet.*
For a miner that may only consume around 20 watts itself, that efficiency gain can make a significant difference in solar runtime.

The Mini is designed for typical 5V Bitcoin miners, including:
